Mary Ellen Ellyson, Ph.D., has been the Principal of Ionia Research since 2005. Prior to that year, she directed institutional research in an Iowa community college for six years and has 15 years experience teaching in higher education. She served on numerous academic and administrative committees responsible for making strategic and operational decisions in program development, academic outcomes assessment, recruitment, federal and state reporting, accreditation, developmental education, and retention. Her research has been published in Sociology of Education, Research in the Sociology of Work, Youth and Society, and Teaching Sociology. Her scholarly work has been presented at annual meetings of the American Sociological Association, the Rural Sociological Society, the American Educational Research Association, and the Midwest Sociological Society. She co-designed the Employee Satisfaction Survey Designed for Accreditation Self-Study, which was presented at the 2003 NCA-CIHE annual meetings. Contact her at me@ioniaresearch.com.
